The US has the highest maternal mortality rate of all industrialized countries. For black women, the risk is 3.5 times higher, and according the CDC, 84% of the maternal deaths are preventable. Dr. Shalon worked at the CDC fighting inequality in healthcare before falling victim to the systemic racism she fought against. She died 3 weeks after giving birth, but her voice lives on. Through AI technology, we brought her voice back to life so Dr. Shalon can sing one last song.
